Colour Scheme, Fonts And Magazine Name Ideas
COLOUR SCHEME
Through my research on colour schemes I have tried to find some ideas which still include the red and black theme from my first drafts this has been difficult to find as they are both colours which are bold therefore I have decided to use green or yellow as they are both also bold and through a lot of testing I think they work well together.

Demographics
Definition:
Demographics are measurable characteristics of media consumers such as age, gender, race, education and income level. The characteristics and statistical information that distinguish a group of people.
The Demographics for my magazine:
The social class that I am targeting my magazine at is bands D and E. Band D is for manual workers either semi-skilled or unskilled, and band E is unemployed, students, pensioners or casual workers.
To adhere to my audience I wont put too much information in and include more images as people of these two bands are more likely to enjoy visuals instead of too much information. Also the price of the magazine will be £2.50 as people of these Bands are probably not going to want to spend £3 or above on a magazine therefore the number of pages will be lower than more expensive magazines as the publishing of multiple pages increases price. There are existing music magazines such as 'Q' which costs near to £4 however this we know is for the higher social classes with the number of pages it has, the amount of writing and the lack of pictures and interesting ads for the lower social classes. However the magazine kerrang is a lower price at just £2.20 as this has a lot less pages more pictures and includes prizes which will appeal to the audience it is aimed at.
Free gifts and prizes are important in these types of magazines as people in the lower social classes are able to get things for free such as concert tickets which they may not actually be able to afford.
The social class table with help which choosing a target audience and feature stories as you it helps in order to know what and how much information to include. Also it leads you to conclusion on what type of images they will like and how many to include in feature stories etc.

Why Audience Research Is Important and focus groups
Audience Research is important because:
Audience Research
- You need to include things in your magazine which will appeal and satisfy your target audience. It give you a better understanding of what to put in your magazine e.g the artists you put in the magazine.
- It tells you what will attract your target audience as a 25 year old would be interested in things which a 16 year old would really be interested in.
Questions To Ask When Conducting Audience Research:
- How much would you pay for a magazine of the Rock Genre?
- What artists would you like to see in this genre of magazine?
- Would a CD included appeal to you more than a magazine without one?
- How frequently would you like the magazine to be published?
- What type of articles would you want to see included in the magazine?
- Would you be more likely to read the magazine online as a download? Why?
- What costume choices would you like to see on the artists?
